By Laura Knoy on Friday, March 23, 2001.

If the American Lung Association of NH
gets its way, no one will be able to smoke in any restaurant dining room in the state. Period. Restaurant owners aren't unanimous in opposing that plan, which several NH lawmakers have
sponsored on the Lung Association's behalf. But many restaurateurs say, since smoking is legal, it should be their choice to go smoke-free or not. Laura talks with Tom Boucher, a partner
of the T-Bones Restaurant Group (www.t-bones.com), which has four restaurants in southern NH,and Douglas Barry, President of the American Lung Association of NH (www.lungusa.org/newhampshire)

Mandating More Mental Health Care Coverage

By Laura Knoy on Tuesday, March 20, 2001.

People with health insurance can get treament for nearly any physical illness or problem, and be covered. But health care plans are often very limited in what they'll cover for mental health issues. A bill in the NH legislature (HB672) would require insurers to put mental health coverage on a par with physical coverage. Steve Zind talks with Mike Cohen, Executive Director of the NH Alliance
for the Mentally Ill-NAMI (http://nh.nami.org), and Yvonne Nanasi, lobbyist for Anthem Blue Cross/Blue
Shield of New Hampshire (www.anthem.com).
