African Thumb Pianos--Made Here in NH!

Dennis Capodestria, lives in Ashland and builds mbiras?African thumb pianos. He discovered the instrument by chance, and constructed the instrument with the intention of learning to play it. Now he builds instruments for schools and performers. He talked about the history of the mbira and how its played, and some of the skills involved in its construction.

New Falcon Family Hatches Chicks in Manchester

Over Mothers? Day weekend, a pair of peregrine falcons living atop a building in downtown Manchester hatched two eggs?the first peregrines born in an urban setting in northern New England. Chris Martin is senior biologist with the NH Audubon Society, and he?s been observing the peregrines. He says that tall buildings make a fairly inviting habitat for the birds of prey.
