ArchivesState's Past Captured in Disease Control MapsBy Kevin Gardner on Monday, February 3, 2003.Sitting in the state archives are some of the most useful and interesting maps ever drawn of the granite state. They are called the pine blister rust maps – named for the disease they helped control. The effort to protect New Hampshire’s forests also produced a remarkably detailed record of the state’s landscape before houses and businesses covered it up. She used to work at NASA's Astronaut Training Division. She talks about her experience at NASA, and how the science fiction community is reacting to the Columbia disaster.
