Will Gov. Benson Follow Gov. Thomson's Lead?By Mark Bevis on Wednesday, June 18, 2003.House and Senate negotiators have reached agreement on a new state budget for New Hampshire. The deal cuts about 50 (m) million dollars from the package passed by the Senate. It's not clear yet if governor Benson will go along with the compromise. But if Benson does veto the budget, UNH History Professor R. Stuart Wallace tell's NHPR's Mark Bevis, Benson won't be the first. listen:

Lawmakers Agree to New Education Funding PlanBy Dan Gorenstein on Wednesday, June 18, 2003.With less than one hour before the deadline, House and Senate lawmakers have agreed on a plan to fund education. Critics charge that under the new law, the state would shift education costs to local communities. But supporters hail the new system as a more fair and equitable distribution of state money.
