Keeping the Practices of the 18th Century Alive

By John Walters on Monday, May 17, 2004.

When the lights go down, Sharon Burnston is perfectly at home. That?s because she?s an expert on daily life in 18th Century America. Sharon teaches people how to sew authentic period clothing, cook on an open hearth and make butter, candles, and soap; all just as it was done more than two centuries ago. Sharon is also the director of the Daniel Webster Birthplace Living History Project which opens on June 12th.
