 Else Minarik and The Little Bear SeriesBy John Walters on Monday, July 5, 2004.When Else Minarik moved to the United States from Denmark, she didn?t speak a word of English. To learn, her mother would take her to the playground and translate what other children were saying. Today, she says she finds English to be one of the most vigorous and colorful languages on the planet. She is the author of the Little Bear series of children?s books, which boasts more than 35 titles. John visits Else in her Nottingham, NH home.
