ArchivesMusic of the RenaissanceBy Shay Zeller on Tuesday, October 4, 2005.Renaissance composer Thomas Tallis turns 500 years old this year. He was part of the same vast cultural movement as da Vinci, Galileo and Shakespeare, but his name doesn't share the same kind of recognition. For some reason, the music of the Renaissance seems to take a back seat to the other accomplishments of the time. We'll talk with the members of the trio Primal Polyphony about why that is and what they're doing to introduce more people to sounds of the 16th century.
