ArchivesMilitary Recruiting on Campus / New Hampshire's Nurse ShortageBy Shay Zeller on Tuesday, March 7, 2006.Yesterday, The U-S Supreme Court ruled against colleges that want to deny military recruiters access to their campuses. The issue was prompted by Vermont Law School and 2 other colleges that say the military's "don’t' ask don't tell" policy on gays is discriminatory. We'll talk about the court's decision with John Hutson, dean of the Franklin Pierce Law Center. A shortage of nurses has prevailed at medical centers around the country for years. In New Hampshire, the effects of that shortage is taking its toll, and now, colleges and universities that train nurses are lacking adequate faculty staffing needed to train the next generation of nurses.
