ArchivesTrusting the GovernmentBy Shay Zeller on Monday, May 22, 2006.The recent floods in New Hampshire continue to try the patience and budgets of many towns across the state. We'll look at the balance between trust and mistrust in the government when a crisis occurs, and what kinds of events take place that can result in the scales tipping. We'll also review some of the moments in American history when citizens' trust was sorely breached. Our guests are Michael Dupre, Professor of Sociology at Saint Anselm College and research fellow at The New Hampshire Institute of Politics, and Paul Gronke, Associate professor and Chair of Political Science at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. |
