Sand Sculptures and Beach Stones

By Shay Zeller on Friday, June 16, 2006.

Sand sculptors from around the country are heading to Hampton this weekend for one of the most prominent competitions in their field. They'll turn two-hundred-fifty tons of sand into giant castles, animals, celebrities and anything else you could imagine. We'll take you into the world of sand sculpting and find out how it's done.

Our Guests Are:

-Greg Grady, professional sand sculptor from Hampton and the man behind the Hampton Beach Competition.

-Meredith Corson, sand sculptor and co-owner of Sanding Ovations in Treasure Island, Florida.

Later in the show, we'll talk with Photographer Josie Iselin. Her new book, Beach Stones, is a collection of beautiful photos of the smooth ocean rocks that catch your eye as you walk down the beach.
