But opera's ability to survive and thrive depends increasingly on its artistic agility. We're going to explore ways contemporary trends make their way into productions through the lens of Keene's Raylynmor Opera's production of Puccini's "Tosca." We'll look at the emerging tradition of opera productions being directed by people from traditional theater backgrounds, and what that means to the "art" of opera. Our guest is San Francisco-based director Elizabeth Bachman, the director of Raylynmor's production of Tosca. |
