Novelist Joe Hurka

By Liz Bulkley on Tuesday, May 22, 2007.

In his book Before, novelist Joseph Hurka tells a tale of terror and loss, and the role that memory can play in our lives. We'll talk with the award-winning author about the ways he weaves his father's experiences as a young resistance fighter in Czechoslavaki under Hitler into a 21st century story, on the eve of 9/11. We'll explore the ways memory guides three very different characters in the shadows of terror.
