The Visiting Artists Series (VAS) at YCCC was created with the express purpose of making the arts available and accessible to YCCC and the community-at-large. Every Fall YCCC invites a diverse array of artists to campus to discuss, demonstrate, exhibit and talk about their experiences as artists. These events are all FREE and OPEN to the PUBLIC. Double or Nothing – October 12 at 6pm Juggling, comedy, magic and mayhem! Steve Corning and Shane Miclon have joined forces to create a truly unique variety show, featuring insane juggling feats, zany humor, and endless off-the-wall antics. Their professional careers have brought them all across the US and beyond with highlights including Disney Cruise Lines and Cirque Mechanics. Steve Corning began performing professionally at age 17 and has brought his off-beat brand of juggling and comedy to theaters and resorts across the country, and internationally aboard Disney Cruise Lines. Steve hails from South Paris, Maine and began his career studying physical comedy and improvisation at the world renowned Celebration Barn Theater. Steve is the show's go-to for weird and crazy stunts, including escape artistry, contortion, and balancing heavy things on his chin. He also tours as a member of the electronic-comedy duo AudioBody and spends his free time writing the original electronic music heard in the show, under the name ThinkFishTank. Shane Miclon hails from Buckfield, Maine and has been juggling since he could walk. Shane has established himself as one of the finest jugglers working in New England, and has toured nationally as a member of Cirque Mechanics and locally with Circus Ole. Shane studied physical comedy and improvisation at the Celebration Barn Theater, and performed as a member of Circus Smirkus in 2009 and 2010. He has appeared at events across the country, with highlights including performances for President George H.W. Bush, and film star Patrick Dempsey. When he isn't throwing props at Steve he can be found collaborating with the "Diet Coke and Mentos Guys" at Eepybird. With fast-paced juggling routines, escape artistry, audience participation, physical comedy, and huge stunts you won't see anywhere else, "Double or Nothing” is a sure bet for spectacular, family-friendly entertainment!
