The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center will be open from 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. every day for Spring Vacation, from Saturday, April 14 through Sunday, April 29. Spring Vacation presents the last chance for visitors to check out the Discovery Center’s special international exhibition on the scientific method, True or False, with its many interactive activities for kids and families, before it leaves for its next venue. During Spring Vacation, the Discovery Center will offer planetarium shows throughout the day - including the Discovery Center’s National Geographic production, Wildest Weather in the Solar System .The Discovery Center’s Countdown Café will also be open every day during Spring Vacation. General admission to the Discovery Center is $11.50 for adults, $10.50 for students and seniors, $8.50 for children 3-12 and under, and free for children ages 0 - 2. Planetarium shows are an additional $5 per person. Member admission to the exhibit galleries and planetarium shows is free year-round; members receive discounts on educational programs and purchases in the Discovery Center Science Store, and free or reduced admission to hundreds of science centers, zoos and botanical gardens worldwide. The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center features 21st century interactive exhibits on aviation, astronomy, Earth and space sciences, a state-of-the-art planetarium and a variety of science, technology, and engineering and mathematics programs.
