The relationship between cinema and politics is about as old as the Hollywood Hills. Tonight on the Front Porch we're going to explore how American government is portrayed in popular film. The big screen often reflects attitudes of the times, whether it's Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Wag the Dog, or Fahrenheit 9/11. Join us to see how accurate some of the portrayals are.

Our guests are:

Ernest Giglio, professor emeritus of Politics and American Studies at Lycoming College and author of the book Here's Looking at You: Hollywood, Film & Politics.

Rodman Philbrick, author of Freak the Mighty and many other books for young adults and grown-ups. He's also film critic for the New Hampshire Gazette.
