When the internet was still a new concept, some predicted it would democratize the music industry and put power back into the hands of artists. Tonight on the Front Porch, We'll find out how technology has impacted music over the years, and what the future may look like for tomorrow's artists.

Host Liz Bulkley speaks with Mark Katz, author of Capturing Sound: How Technology Has Changed Music. Mark is assistant professor of Ethnomusicology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
