Journalist Erica Rowell explores some of the universal themes of life through the lens of filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen. In her new book, The Brothers Grim: The Films of Ethan and Joel Coen, she makes a case that the two cinematic brothers exploit and subvert universal storytelling modes with a range of sophisticated pranks. The Coen's new film No Country for Old Men comes out this fall; it's based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy.
