Democratic presidential hopeful Bill Richardson discussed several issues during a campaign stop in Concord – from healthcare and energy to foreign policy.

Richardson said that the US needs to spend more stem cell research, invest in alternative energy, and ensure that all Americans have access to health care.

The governor from New Mexico, who once held a position as a U.N. ambassador, also touted his experience in foreign policy.

He criticized the Bush Administration for lacking leadership skills in foreign policy.

He said that President Bush has been backing a military dictator – referring to Pakistan’s General Pervez Musharraf.

“And unless we shift and lean on him to say to him we give you $10 million dollars every year we give you $10 billion dollars since 9-11. You need to bring democracy back bring Benazir Bhutto and let her participate in elections. Bring back the supreme court and then go after Al-Quaeda and the Taliban…"

Richardson added that the US should tell Musharraf that funding would be cut off unless he holds elections and addresses terrorism.
