Huckabee came on stage from the theme music from "2001: A Space Odyssey" and thanked his supporters here for supplementing his success last week in Iowa.

"Because so many people in this state just worked their hearts out. And it wasn't like we had a whole lot of money to help you with. So you made up with it, with hard work, phone calls, e-mails - frankly, I'm not sure what all some of you did, I don't even want to know." (laughter)

The former Arkansas governor said New Hampshire voters gave him a warm welcome with hospitality he thought was unique to the South.

Huckabee is faring much better in national polls, and he's expected to do well in the rest of this month's primaries, especially South Carolina and Florida.
