When Salisbury residents said they saw a ball of fire plummet from the night sky and start brush fires, there was immediate talk of meteorites. A spokesman from the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium says there is no evidence that a meteorite hit the earth. The explanation may be as simple as a roman candle.
