How Do You Deal With Information Overload?

By Avishay Artsy on Thursday, June 26, 2008.

Everywhere you turn these days, you're presented with unprecendented access to information. From the radio to television to newspapers to the Internet, there's a lot to take in - often too much. The stress of trying to stay on top of it all can be overwhelming.

On Monday's show, Word of Mouth will take a long view of the glut of information. Humans have been gathering, organizing and sharing information for tens of thousands of years, long before microchips or movable type. We'll explore how we reached the age of information overload, along with ways to curb distraction and stay focused.

We want to hear from you! How do you manage what designer Richard Saul Wurman called the "tsunami of data" facing us every day? From powering down your PC and unplugging your TV, to just plain slowing down, we want to hear your ideas. And we'll share them on the air.
