Eco-Friendly Father's Day Gifts

By Zach Johnk on Thursday, June 18, 2009.

Father’s Day is right around the corner, and for those of you who have left it until the last minute, there’s still time to get dad a gift. There’s even time to make it an eco-friendly one. Instructables.com offers advice on how to transform your push mower into a solar-powered grass eating machine.

Perhaps when dad’s done he’ll be able to cool off with a beer from his new organic home-brewing kit. And after a healthy meal from the local farmer’s market, he might just have to loosen his belt...made from recycled tires. If you’re generous, you can also treat him to a computer case that will charge his laptop and cell phone using solar energy. Or you can scale back, and just get him a solar powered razor...for all those super-green dads who shave outside.
