Social networking sites have undoubtedly made us more connected, but is there a downside to being constantly linked in? After all, more and more personal information is posted online – information that can be read by romantic partners.

A new study reveals how the technological age has affected couples. It found that Facebook has a negative effect on romantic relationships. Though the networking site makes it easier to communicate with one another, the study found, it also enables jealous partners to monitor their significant other’s behavior.

Though the report is based on college students, its researchers hypothesized that a similar study on adult relationships would uncover the same results.
