Something Old, Something New: Film Festivals in New Hampshire
By Rick Ganley on Friday, October 16, 2009.
Two New Hampshire film festivals offer star-powered movies and locally grown features. Film critic Amy Diaz talks with Morning Edition Host Rick Ganley about the Mirthquake and New Hampshire Film Festivals. The New Hampshire Film Festival takes place this weekend at several locations in Portsmouth. Amy says a local comedy called "Mystery Team" is likely to be a big hit at this year's festival - she describes it as "Encyclopedia Brown-style crime-solving, except now they're adults." She also recommends several national films, such as "Food, Inc," "Paper Heart" starring Michael Cera, and "The Last Truck: The Closing of a GM Plant." Mirthquake Film Festival is a festival featuring films from the early days of Hollywood, some silent films with live musical accompaniment! Films will be screened in several locations including Manchester, Wilton and Concord. Post a comment
