Ryan Parker was a tall kid with big hands. When sports grew tedious, there was only one other way to go. Piano lessons. At 29, Ryan is a professional jazz pianist and the youngest recipient of a fellowship from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. He joins John to talk about art of improvisation, the challenges of producing his own recordings and the joy of playing out with Jazz legend Herb Pomeroy.
