Sydney Finkelstein is a professor in the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He spent several years looking at how businesses come to grief. His new book Why Smart Executives Fail examines the causes of disaster and scandal in the business world and why often, it?s the best and brightest who get in the worst trouble. Included are studies of Tyco, Cabletron, and the Boston Red Sox.
