Pontine Movement Theatre's "Dearly Earned"
By John Walters on Tuesday, April 24, 2001.
NHPR's Kevin Gardner has a review of "Dearly Earned," the latest production of Portsmouth's Pontine Movement Theatre. The production tries to re-create the world of a 19th century textile mill, using period newspaper accounts, the letters and memoirs of mill workers, and the sounds and rhythms of mill machinery. "Dearly Earned" runs from April 27 to May 13. [Also look for our interview with M. Margeurite-Matthews and Greg Gathers, co-creators of the production.] |
