I'm no fan of calling one game the best, especially when perhaps 20 deserve a shot at that crown. After much consideration, I chose 10 of the finest offerings videogame entertainment can create circa 2012. It was a year when publishers continued their focus on banal sequels, but a few new additions to old franchises stood head and shoulders above the rest to become their own amazing entities. Most of the best games, though, aren't part of a series at all.
