Dartmouth College is reaffirming its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions following President Donald Trump's decision to pull out from the Paris climate agreement.
On Monday, Dartmouth President Phil Hanlon joined the presidents of eleven other schools insigning a letterunderlining a commitment to sustainability, including more quickly transitioning to low-carbon energy sources.
"We remain committed to a broad-based global agreement on climate change and will do our part to ensure the United States can meet its contribution," the letter states.
Dartmouth has fallen behind several of its peer institutions on a number of sustainability fronts, including emissions, waste and water use, according to a report released earlier this spring.
