Baseball Pennant Races Heat Up

The Washington Nationals are riding a nine-game winning streak after last night’s 3-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Nats have the best record in the National League and lead the Atlanta Braves by seven games in the league’s Eastern Division.

But while that race may be pretty much decided, the playoff chase in the other National League divisions is not. In the American League, the Baltimore Orioles are in charge in the East — they lead by nine games. But in the Central and West, at least four teams are involved in the hunt for first place.
