A law banning the use of all hand-held electronic devices is going into effect in New Hampshire on July 1, and transportation officials are unveiling an education campaign about the change.
The campaign being discussed Wednesday includes a new public service announcement, website and materials available for residents to familiarize themselves with the new law.
The law says drivers will no longer be permitted to use hand-held cellphones, GPS, tablets, iPods, iPads or other devices that require data entry. Bluetooth or other hands-free electronic devices will be allowed.
Speakers at the event at the New Hampshire Automobile Dealers Association in Bow include State Police Col. Robert Quinn, Andy Crews, president and CEO of AutoFair, and Marilyn Bachman, whose husband was struck and killed outside their home.
