The president of Colby-Sawyer College plans to step down next year.
Thomas C. Galligan announced this week that he will leave the job at the end of June, when he’ll wrap up his tenth year at the helm of the small New London college.
"I've had a wonderful nine years, and I'm sure I'll have a busy and wonderful tenth," he said. "The whole time I've been at Colby-Sawyer, one of my themes is that change is good, and it's inevitable. You have to live your message and the institution, as always, will benefit from fresh ideas."
Galligan says he may return to teaching.
Colby-Sawyer has formed a search committee to find a replacement.
