The Currier Museum of Art in Manchester has its first meeting Monday evening for a new program aimed at addressing the drug crisis.
This new initiative, called “The Art of Hope,” is geared for parents who have a child battling a substance abuse problem.
Bruce McColl is in charge of art education at the museum. He says the idea is to create a safe and comforting place for people…and use art to help them connect.
“So we are hoping that the art that we choose can afford parents an opportunity to connect with each other, to talk about their experiences, to find an opportunity for respite," said McColl.
The program is free and open to all…regardless of artistic ability. It will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. every Monday through the end of the month.
