Detroit Schools Roiled By Corruption And Control Debate

At least 12 current and former principals in the Detroit Public School system have been accused of taking part in a bribery and kickback scheme. It involved school supplies that were rarely delivered to children in the debt-ridden school system.

The charges came as lawmakers debate how to turn around the Detroit Public School system, and whether a string of state-appointed emergency managers have contributed to the its problems.
