DJ Sessions: Latin Alternative From Los Angeles To Venezuela

In today’s installment of the Here & Now DJ Sessions, KCRW’s Raul Campos introduces us to some groups he came across while hosting the 15th annual Latin Alternative Music Conference in New York City.

He joins host Jeremy Hobson with fresh sounds from Oakland’s bilingual hip-hop duo Los Rakas, Puerto Rican garage/powerpop solo act A.J. Davila of Davila 666, Venezuelan MC Apache, Mexican reggae band Antidoping, Grammy-Award winning Los Angeles group La Santa Cecilia and Miami producer Mr. Pauer.

Note: We now have a Spotify playlist for our weekly DJ Sessions segment. The playlist will be updated each week with new songs. Spotify is free to use, but requires a login.

Songs From This Segment

Los Rakas, “Asi Me Gusta”

A.J. Davila, “Lo Que No Sera”

Apache, “Original Combination”

Antidoping, “Ready”

La Santa Cecilia, “Strawberry Fields Forever”
