Feds Approve Disaster Relief Money to Help with Nor'Easter Damage Costs

FILE

The White House will soon be sending federal dollars to New Hampshire to help pay for damage from March’s Nor’Easter.

Last month Gov. Chris Sununu requested emergency assistance for Belknap and Carroll Counties and on Friday that request was granted by the President.

The federal government estimated the storm to have cost both counties more than two million dollars in damage.

In a statement Friday, Sununu thanked the President and noted the strain this storm put on state and local resources.

The March storm blanketed the state with nearly two feet of snow and brought wind gusts up to 35 miles an hour. More than 140,000 residents were left without power.
