Former state Sen. Sam Cataldo of Farmington died in a car crash this weekend.
Cataldo, 80, was heading to a budget meeting in Farmington when he was killed in a head-on collision on Route 11. Officials say no one else was injured in the crash.
Cataldo served 12 years in the House and Senate before stepping down in 2016 to run for the Executive Council. The Republican was defeated by Democrat Andru Volinsky.
In a written statement, Governor Chris Sununu called Cataldo a “good friend and true patriot who loved New Hampshire.”
