Fresh Greens: Environment Club

This summer, New Hampshire Public Radio embarked on an exciting project. NHPR teamed up with Generation PRX and Terrascope Youth Radio to produce a one-hour special on teens and the environment.

Youth radio groups from Alaska to Texas, California to Maine submitted radio pieces about what it really means to be green. Independent writer and producer Kelly Horan gathered together these thoughtful and engaging pieces to produce Fresh Greens: Teens and the Environment.

All this week Word of Mouth presents highlights from the special, which airs in its entirety this Friday at Noon.

To kick off the series, we’ll hear from Blunt Youth Radio’s Anna Flannigan. Anna was one of the leaders of her school’s environment club. Anna graduated in June and now wonders who will pick up the torch at her high school. She also questions whether her work with the environment club actually made a difference.
