53 percent of small businesses in New Hampshire aren't online, says Jamie Hill, a Google spokesperson. That, she says, is bad for Google, and bad for small businesses, too.
A team of Google marketers descended on Southern New Hampshire University in Hooksett yesterday to provide a year of free websites and consulting to the state's small business owners, in a nation-wide campaign called Get Your Business Online. There, entrepreneurs learned how to build a website, market it, and received one-on-one consulting. After the first year, participants can sign on with Intuit, a Google partner, which provides web and payroll services for businesses around the country.
