Governor Maggie Hassan is directing flags at half-staff on Wednesday in honor of MIT Officer Sean Collier.
The 26-year-old Somerville, Mass. resident was killed last week, allegedly by the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings. Family and friends are holding a private funeral for him today.
"We are united in our grief and in our pride in the law enforcement officers who gave so much to protect our people and bring the perpetrators to justice,” Governor Hassan said. “Sean Collier’s dedication to protecting others reflects the very best of the American spirit."
