The heads of New Hampshire health care providers Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Elliot Health System and Frisbie Hospital announced Monday that they are teaming up with insurer Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.

The partnership called Benevera Health, is designed to cut health care costs and improve patient care by collaborating efforts as well as sharing thousands of medical records.

President of Harvard Pilgrim Eric Schultz  said that a team of roughly 40 health care advocates and professionals will join this effort starting on January 1.

“Benevera with its staff and leadership will pull all this data together in one area that will help to do things like identifying patients who may have issues down the road, getting them identified early so they can be cared for and not run into acute space,” Schultz said during Monday's press conference.

Benevera will support all of Harvard Pilgrim’s 83,000 New Hampshire members. Schultz said through this partnership Pilgrim’s premiums will drop four percent next year.
