How Chinese Students Are Gaming The US Admissions Process

The SAT still holds rank as the most popular standardized test used by college admissions offices.  In 2005, complaints about the SAT’s limitations led to the addition of an essay portion, a new format designed to be harder to “game.” But one test prep company found a way to trump the SAT and other admission exams, and it’s based...in China. Daniel Golden is a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist who covered the firm called “New Oriental” for Bloomberg Businessweek, we spoke to him in 2011, whenhis article was published.
