Hundreds Of Red Sox Fans Pack Statehouse Plaza To See David Ortiz

Hundreds of Boston Red Sox fans gathered in front of the Statehouse earlier today to catch a glimpse of World Series MVP David Ortiz.

Ortiz was in the state promoting the launch of the New Hampshire Lottery’s five-dollar Red Sox scratch ticket.

Eleven-year-old Dominic Mangone of Concord was in the crowd and wearing the World Series championship hat he bought the day after the team won last year.

“I knew they were going to win because they were crushing. I was really excited. And I had to get all the gear for the World Series. I got my hat, I got everything.”

The 2013 World Series trophy was also on display at the event.

Governor Maggie Hassan introduced Ortiz and touted the money the state’s lottery program has raised for public education.
