International Organizations Helping Monitor Polls on Election Day
Next week, voters will take to the polls to elect the next president of the United States. Watching the process will be a number of observers from all sides of the political process. From the GOP, election fraud hawks will be making sure poll workers comply with new voter ID laws effective in a number of states. Democratic groups like the AFL-CIO will also be watching to try and prevent and report misconduct and voter disenfranchisement. And perhaps most notably, a group of international UN observers will be monitoring polls on election day. Alexander Bolton of The Hill wrote about how those UN monitors are drawing criticism among certain political circles.
