We're talking with Pulitzer Prize winning Washington Post reporter David Finkel about his work covering the lives of Iraq War veterans -- their experiences in war and returning home, where they often face what Finkel calls the "after-war."

This program was originally broadcast on 12/3/14.

GUEST:

  • David Finkel- Pulitzer Prize winning staff writer for The Washington Post, and the author The Good Soldiers (2009), which chronicles the experiences of a U.S. Army infantry battalion deployed to Baghdad during the 2007 surge, and Thank You for Your Service (2013), which follows the same group of men as they return home to America and face the challenges of returning to civilian life.

Veterans and their families and friends seeking help can call the Veterans Crisis Line: 800-273-8255
