You may be planning a lazy holiday weekend this Fourth of July. But for many presidential candidates, the Fourth is just another opportunity to work for votes, though with one big difference: On Independence Day, the campaign trail is likely to follow a parade route.
Amherst, host of one of New Hampshire’s more venerable July 4th celebrations, will see at least three GOP candidates in its parade Saturday: former Florida governor Jeb Bush, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, and former Texas governor Rick Perry. That parade kicks off at 10 am.
Also Saturday morning, Wolfeboro’s parade will include New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.
Later in the day, Bush and Perry will hit the parade trail for the second time, this time in the town of Merrimack. And Graham will march again, too, this time in Center Harbor’s parade.
Further north, Democrat Hillary Clinton will take part in Gorham’s Independence Day parade. That’s at 2 o’clock.
