July Brings Program Changes To NHPR
July brings a number of changes to the NHPR program schedule, as we add a few new programs to the weekend mix…and give you another chance to enjoy some of your weekend favorites throughout the week!
Wits—Saturdays at 8:00PM
“If you're a fan of @waitwait, you should start listening to @wits. Immediately.”
Peter Sagal, @petersagal
Wits is a live public radio show that brings world-class comedians, actors, and musicians to the stage of the Fitzgerald Theater, where host John Moe gives them and the audience the time of their lives. Praised as "a wildly successful radio show, both a throwback to the radio's golden age and also wholly modern," Wits mixes improvisation, sketch comedy, conversation, music for the perfect soundtrack to your Saturday night!
Snap Judgment—Saturdays at 9:00PM
“Amazing. Like a cousin of This American Life that grew up in a wildly different neighborhood…”
Ira Glass, This American Life
Snap Judgment host Glynn Washington will take you on a weekly audio journey—leaping from one person’s frying pan into another person’s fire. DJ-driven musical delivery, paired with lush sound design, will drop you into the very heart of what matters with a fast-paced narrative which highlights people from across the globe who put everything on the line.
Bullseye with Jesse Thorn—Sundays at 1:00PM
“The kind of show people listen to in a more perfect world.”
Bullseye with Jesse Thorn is a public radio show about what’s good in popular culture. With a keen editorial eye, Bullseye brings you hot culture picks, in-depth interviews with the most revered and revolutionary creative people, and irreverent original commentary. Each week, the guests on Bullseye will include performers, artists, and authors who are shaping and documenting our culture right now. The conversations you’ll hear on Bullseye will make you think, question, and laugh.
While many of you have told me how much you enjoy our weekend programs, you’ve also mentioned that you often don’t have the chance to listen as much as you would like on the weekends. With that in mind, NHPR is giving you another chance to hear some of your weekend favorites, including Radiolab, This American Life, and The MOTH Radio Hour, during the 7:00PM hour weeknights. Be sure you check out the full lineup of our new schedule by clicking right here.
