July Unemployment Rate Up Slightly in New Hampshire

New Hampshire officials say the state's unemployment rate went up slightly in July, to 2.9 percent.

The state employment security office says the preliminary seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is up a tenth of a percentage point from the June rate of 2.8 percent.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July 2015 was 3.4 percent.

The state estimates that 732,860 people were employed last month, an increase of 1,730 from the previous month and an increase of 15,930 from July 2015.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July was 4.9 percent, unchanged from the June rate. It was a decrease of four tenths of a percentage point from July 2015.
