Lawmakers To See Light Schedule After Jam-Packed Week

Allegra Boverman for NHPR

After taking up more than a hundred bills last week in the House, lawmakers will have a pretty light agenda this week.

House members will be meeting all week in committee but will not be in session. Meanwhile the full Senate will be returning this Thursday.

On Tuesday, the House will hold public hearings on two somewhat controversial bills – one seeking to legalize needle exchange programsand another to craft state regulations on the use of drones.

New Hampshire is the only state in New England that doesn't have a needle exchange program.

Meanwhile, the Senate will vote on a number of bills Thursday, including one to establish video lottery at Rockingham Park in Salem. The measure  was tabled earlier this session after the lead sponsor said he didn’t have the votes.

The full House will return next week. The Senate Finance Committee will meet, as well, to weigh in on whether the state should reauthorize Medicaid expansion.
