The town of Lincoln is mourning a local firefighter killed in a motor vehicle accident in Canterbury.
Captain Steve Bomba died in a crash on Interstate 93 Friday night that left two others injured.
The 25-year-old Bomba also worked as a dispatcher with the Grafton County Sheriff's Department.
According to his obituary, family members say they will remember Bomba as someone with a big heart, always willing to help those in need.
The Union Leader reports state police and a firefighter motorcycle group helped escort Bomba's body yesterday from Concord Hospital to the funeral home. Firefighters along Interstate 93 paid tribute as the escort made its way north.
A wake will be held Tuesday, followed by a funeral on Wednesday.
Officials say it's not clear why the vehicle in which Bomba was a passenger drifted off the highway.
The driver - Lincoln firefighter Michael Weden - and another passenger - former Haverhill police officer Greg Collins - both suffered serious injuries.
